 Southern
Door & Hardware is not just another door and hardware company. We
are also a safety and security company. In addition to providing a full
range of doors and hardware, we provide hollow metal frames, access control
products, CCTV, security alarms, detention equipment, energy management
controls, operable walls, division 10 specialty products, and can provide
installation of all of the above. We manufacture our own hollow metal
frames which allows you, the customer, tremendous flexibility and the
best lead times in the industry. With our team of the best, most experienced
people in the industry, we use a professional, pro-active business approach
and delivery method.
Company History
In 1987 Perry N. Cox founded Southern Door & Hardware in Jackson,
Mississippi. His goal was to provide superior service as a distributor
of doors and hardware to the contractors in Mississippi area. Perry saw
a great opportunity to provide a higher level of service to the customer
through the manufacturing of hollow metal frames which would result in
superior lead times and greater flexibility in response to last minute
changes by the architect and/or owner. After five successful years in
business, Southern Door & Hardware constructed a state of the art
office and manufacturing facility which still serves as the Company’s
headquarters. We have completed projects from small renovations, to world
class hotels, casinos,
hospitals, schools,
and detention facilities.
In 1999, after 12 years of building a successful business in the Mississippi,
Louisiana and Alabama tri-state area, Southern Door & Hardware was
acquired by Hardware Corporation of America as part of a national “roll-up”
plan. In November 2001, Perry Cox had an opportunity to purchase the company
back, which he did with a renewed and continuing passion for the business
and the customers. On November 1, 2001 Southern Door & Hardware was
reopened under its original ownership with a commitment to the marketplace.
Today
In addition to our Jackson, Mississippi headquarters, we have a regional office
in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With the changing environment of our industry and
the increased needs of security and life safety, we have taken our service
and expertise from our base door and hardware business and expanded our product
offering to our customers.  At
Southern Door & Hardware, we invest daily in our employees ensuring they are
trained in all of the cutting edge developments in our industry so that they may
pass along their knowledge in serving you, the customer. Through partnerships
with industry leading suppliers, we offer a broad range of products at competitive
prices. While pricing is important, we believe it is our service that continues
to bring customers back and allows us to grow into new territories and add new
